The Show
From Wikipedia: The Drowsy Chaperone is a musical with book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar and music and lyrics by Lisa Lambertand Greg Morrison.
It is a parody of American musical comedy of the 1920s. The story concerns a middle-aged, asocial musical theatre fan; as he plays the record of his favorite musical, the (fictional) 1928 hit The Drowsy Chaperone, the show comes to life onstage as he wryly comments on the music, story, and actors.
The Drowsy Chaperone debuted in 1998 at The Rivoli in Toronto and opened on Broadway on 1 May 2006. The show was nominated for multiple Broadway (2006) and London (2008) theatre awards, winning five Tony Awards and seven Drama Desk Awards. The show has had major productions in Toronto, Los Angeles, New York, London, and Japan, as well as two North American tours

Audition Dates
When: January 10th & 11th @ 2pm-arrive on time!
Where: Pinnacle Playhouse Greenroom (go in the main doors of the theatre, and take a right down the little stairs).
What: When you arrive you will be asked to fill out a form with some basic info we need, as well as letting us know what (if any) experience you have. Don't worry if you have no previous theatre experience! We will also be taking a mug shot...um, I mean a photo, of you. :)
What Else: You will need to have a portion of a broadway song ready (singing an entire song is not necessary). Pick any song you want, and pick the part you sing best in it! An accompanist will be available, so bring sheet music for your song if you have it (sheet music can be purchased online for most broadway songs).
You DO NOT need to have a monologue ready, but you may be asked to read out of the script. So, be familiar with the characters so that you can read your best for whatever part you are asked to read.
Anything Else?: You will be asked to do some "dancing" (nothing serious, we just want to see if you know you have feet and arms that can move rhythmically!). So, dress nice, but also dress so you can move comfortably.
Call Backs: Saturday, January 17th @ 2pm
